Current Weather Conditions in Medfield, MA

Welcome!

It is our pleasure to welcome you to the New 'N Towne Web site. This site will serve as a way for current and future members of New 'N Towne to communicate about both the club and what's happening in Medfield. The New 'N Towne Club of Medfield began as an independent organization in 1969, having formerly been part of Welcome Wagon International. Today, it is a non-profit group whose aim is to provide community activities and social contacts during a time of transition into a new community.

President's Message

Happy Holidays! I hope that all of you enjoyed the holidays and had the opportunity to share some quality time and laughs with friends and loved ones.

December was a blur. I would like to thank Heather McCarthy, Simone Lee and Meredith Teany for organizing what I believe was our most successful Tree Lighting Bake Sale ever. Thanks to their efforts, and to all of you who baked or staffed the booth at the event, we raised over $1,000 to donate to those in need. In addition, I would also like to thank our Community Service Team- Nancy McMahon, Alexandra Compton, and Deb Lutz- for their efforts in organizing another successful PJ Party and Holiday Gift Drive for the families living at the Medway Family Shelter. Finally, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of you who donated pajamas, gifts and/or your time this past month. Your generosity brought an incredible amount of joy to those desperately in need, and we greatly appreciate your help during the holiday craziness.

Now, on to 2012! First, I would like to invite all of you to attend our Board Meeting on Tuesday, January 10th at 7:30 at The Medfield Center on Ice House Road. Please come join us for a drink and some snacks, and find out how NNT operates. I am fortunate to serve on the Board with a fun and fantastic group of women and the meeting is a great place to meet some new people and to find out how you can get more involved in NNT. This month, we will be forming the nominating committee that will assist in slating the positions for next year’s Board. If you would like to participate on the nominating committee or would like to get involved in next year’s Board, please contact Claudia Rosen.

This month, we have many of our regularly scheduled activities planned. Need a chocolate fix? If so, please join Girls’ Night Out on January 7th as we head into Boston for a Chocolate Brunch. Not yet ready to rid yourself of the holiday spirit? Then please join Wine Tasting and Couples’ Night Out on Saturday, January 14th as we gather for an evening of Dessert and Sparkling Wine Tasting. Looking for a more casual or quiet evening out? Pub Night, Bunco, Crafting/Girls’ Night In and Book Club will also be meeting this month, so please make sure to check the newsletter carefully for details about these and other NNT activities scheduled this month.

Finally, please SAVE THE DATE of March 24th for NNT’s Annual Cocktail Party at the Sherborn Inn. Invitations for the event will be going out this month. Please note that the cocktail party is open to NNT members and alumni, and is very popular. Space is limited, but NNT Members have the first chance to reserve their spots at the party, so reserve your babysitters now and RSVP early!!! As always, if anyone has any questions about NNT or any of the scheduled activities, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Volunteers Needed

Board Members Needed for next Fall

It's hard to believe that we are already looking to fill next year's NNT Board Positions. If you are interested in learning about the New N' Towne Board, please let me know! NNT is run by a wonderful group of volunteers, we meet once a month, and no prior experience is required. Being on the board is a wonderful way to meet some really great people while helping our organization run! We are opening up our January board meeting to ALL members so you can see what is involved in each position, and get a look behind the scenes! I can say that, from my personal experience, being in involved on the board has led to wonderful friendships, many laughs, and a great sense of accomplishment when we distribute the funds we have raised throughout the year. New N' Towne is truly a wonderful organization, and being on the Board is a wonderful opportunity to continue its great tradition in Medfield. Please send me an email at claudiarosen at gmail.com if you are interested in a board position or to be on nominating committee. Please click here to see all the information!>>
